”Dixie Saamis: Rather Southern Saamis from 1500 BC till AD 2000, and on the long, continuous Saami history of the Bothnian coastal areas. From kings to fiscal objects, to photo objects on shrinking reservations”
New views and reconsidered as well as freshly recycled rediscovered synthesises will be featured: We dive into Ethnogenesises as well as into long- /short-term ethnic cleansings. Lines and tendencies; aggressive expansive empires, defeated Uralic-speaking indigenous peoples. Pre-historical, iron age, medieval history subsistences and tribal relations. And about an embryo to a Saami state AD 800-1500, as mirrored in early Historical sources. All mainly with a Pan-Nordic and pan-Saami perspective.
Can be held in Swedish or English.
One long or, preferably, two-three lectures within a course part.
